Over the edge
Today, the kids had no skilessons, so we decided to do some rodeling at the smaragdbahn in Bramberg.
The weather was beautiful and the slope was perfect, so we had a funfilled afternoon. This course is the longest rodelbahn in Europe with its 14 km.
As you can see, great fun.
At one point I was overtaking my two eldest boys, when I saw them go over the edge. My eldest made a steering error and woop, they were gone, luckily there were no trees and it was not to steep, so DH and I could get them out without to much trouble. Son #2 was upset, so I took him with me to the middle station and we had someting to drink. But they are both OK.

Austria - day 1
Yesterday we all arrived at a decent time in Augsburg so we had a nice diner at the local brewery, big Wiener Snitzels with french fries and big beers...
This morning after breakfast we left for Austria and this is what we encountered on the highway... Eerie, as normally it is very busy, but hey, who are we to complain?
That is until we hit Munchen and this is what we encountered... 4 lanes of stau... for kilometers, even when we crossed into Austria.
Once in Zillertal... stau...
But after a 16 hours trip, we finally arrived in...
So here we are, everything went OK, skilessons are taken care of and tomorrow morning the kids leave for their skilessons, blissful peace and quiet.

Last day in Austria
Today was our last day in Austria. We promised son #3 to take a ride with the steam engine of the zillertalbahn, and so we did.All the kids, our boys and my cousin´s daughter were in ´trachten´, so they were the talk of the town.
The steam engine ride was really great for the kids, and the views are amazing. A trip worthwhile making.

We drove from Kaltenbach to Mayrhofen, where we had a bite to eat in a Konditorei, and then we took the regular train back to Kaltenbach; At the moment we packed our stuff and I am waiting for DH to bring the car to the chalet to pack the car. So this is the end of a great vacation in Austria.

Krimml
Today we visited the local craft market in Krimml. We bought some great wooden toys and minerals. The boys love all the minerals you can find here and in this valley you can find a lot of mountain cristals, as the picture above shows.
We bought some smaller ones and spent some time enjoying some local specialities like Krapfen and bradwurst.
Tonight we had a swim at the Kristalbad in Wald, where this picture was taken of Groene beestje on a cristal, because offcourse he joined us.

Lots of snow
The weather here in Austria seems better than at home. It snows so there is no sun, that is a pitty because we have a big sun deck here at the chalet, but it is not too cold, around -5 degrees Celsius during the day.
Both son #1 and #2 are taking skilessons and doing very well, so that is good to see. It is son #2 first time and he is only three so I am very proud of hime. I think his only motivation is the medal the get when the finifh the lessons, but he is working very hard and is very serious about sjiing as you can see.
Son #3 also loves the snow until his hands get too cold because he refuses to wear mittens...
So I haven´t been able to craft must because we spend most of the time outside with the boys and at night I am glad I can take a hot sauna and go to bed.
