happy Birthday son #1 !

Son #1 turned 11 today and we had a big surprise for him. Last night DH and I blew up two bags of balloons, way more that in the picture below. We placed a sheet in front of the door and placed all the balloons inside. SH and I had great fun doing it, as he managed the explode two balloons while blowing them up, so we thought our son would wake and understand what was going on, but it didnt???

This morning, I knocked on his door, asking him to wake up, and when he opened the door, the whole room was suddenly filled. And the only reaction we heard from behind the sheet was: "That was really cool."
So I guess our surprise worked. :-)

My mum even bought me my favorite speculaas, just one piece, which I had with some coffee thsi afternoon.
Yesterday we went out for lunch with parents, au pair and a bunch of kids. Nice food, great company, Great birthday.

Birthday son #3

We already celebrated son #3 birthday on board during our holiday, but today we had a small party for family and friends. His godmother and godfather came ove for lunch, we had some BBQ as the weather was great. As dessert we had plane vanilla cake (his choice), chololat mousse cake, raspberry bavarois and a pear tart. They were all yummy, so I guess everyone had a cake to his liking.
At th emoment we have a thunder storm, so it is raining, hard... luckily, all the guests are on their way home.

Cake cones

Yesterday, son #2 was taken to the bike shop by his godmother. She and his godfather were bying him a bicycle for his Lentefeest (communion for lapsed Catholics) :-)
He chose a white mountain bike typed bike, really nice and he was soooo happy. When we arrived home, he jumped on it to have a go with is brothers, only to return crying :-), he apparently fell off the bike... But he went back on it and biked until it was 9.30 pm and he had to go to bed. great success, thank you very much.

Tomorrow, son # 3 will celebrate his birthday in his class, because he has his birthday in July and school is already out, so tomorrow is his day at school.
He wanted cake cones, so I did my best, I guess they turned out alright...

Birthday in classroom

Son #3 celebrated his 5th birthday in his class yesterday. And as you can see, he beamed as a sunshine.
He like the beecake and the presents for his class. i don´t know how it worsin other scholls, but in his school, the birthday boy/girl gives a present to the class instead of small presents for all the kids. So this way, future generations can also enjoy teh presents. we bought a book about the fire department and some cars, as that is what the teacher told us, she could use.

Birthday

Yep, today I am officialy 40 something...
Will buy myself a large chocolate cake and start learning for my upcoming exames at Uni. I got a very cool red e-reader, as DH was tired of my borrowing his e-reader. So now I can look for a nice cover for it. Any ideas?

Belated birthday party son #3

Today we celebrated son#3 s birthday, I know it is a bit late, but there were just too many birthdays at the end of the last schoolyear. So he invited 12 kids and we had a great time at Jobland.

He enjoyed all the attention and he was very happy with all of his presents. The kids all were very nice and had a good time.

son #2 turned 5

Yesterday son #2 had his birthday for his friends in Jobland. A great indoor playground for smaller kids. The entertainment is fun and the people do their best to take all the work out of your hands. The kids loved the place and had a great time.
This morning we went to the Zoo, OK teh weather was not great, but we had a nice walk and could see all the improvements they are doing for the new season.
After we came home, the grandparents visited us and offcourse there was cake, but since son #2 doesn´t like cakes and loves wafels, he got some wafels with candles.

And this is what I made for his class tomorrow, since he is in the Bee class, I thought I would make cake pops in the shape of bees. It turned out to be much harder than it looked, especially sine the eadible stift I bought to draw the eyes and mouth didn´t work after one bee.

i hope the kids see bees in them.

Birthday

Yesterday DH and I celebrated our birthdays and had a small birthdayparty for some friends and family.
I was spoiled rotten as you can see with some wonderful gifts such as a cupcake stand, crochet pens, a dessert calender, CD, some wonderful mugs from pip studio (the picture only shows one, but there were 6 of them). And not in the picture a pepper and salt shaker ion red and white polka dots. Thank you everyone for the great gifts.
DH got a book of Stephen Hawkin and teh Star wars cook book, very funny I think. We also got a gift certificate to play golf on a course of our choice, that we will make a weekend out of it.
And our au pair has friend from Russia over, and they brought us these lovely gifts, a russian hat for DH and I got a matroushka doll. They are both wonderful. SO thanks everyone.

Son #2 = 4!

This is us, 4 years ago. Wow, I can´t believe they grow up so fast. There he was happy with his pacifier, now he is sitting in the couch with his new NDS, playing mario or something.
And this is son #2 yesterday, we asked to celebrate his birthday on friday since that is a relaxed day. He also wanted cupcakes for the class, so...

And as I am typing this I am waiting for the oven, where there are more cupcakes... For his party later this morning. Happy Birthday from us!

PS I know it says friday in the header, but for us it is already Saturday morning March 27th.

Happy Birthday to me...

Yes, today is my birthday, again, a year older.

This morning I was suprised with some lovely drawing from the boys and a waffle maker, with a box of remix for waffles, so I could make waffles tonight after work. Because they wanted to taste some freshly made waffles.

DH also has a gift for me, but that is still a surprise and this is what I bought myself on etsy, I think it is gorgeous and that I will make better cookies with it, what do you think?

You may kiss the bride...

Tomorrow I have a bachelor party and they asked met to make something so that anyone can see who the lucky girl is. And since I had a very busy week at work, I kept it simply, but I think you can´t overlook who the bachelorette is... Do you?

That reminded me that I forgot our 7th wedding anniversary this week... I rest my case, I had a very busy week and so did hubbie, hence, we did nothing, not even go out to diner. Oh well, next time better.
Today son #1 passed another swimclass (Congrats!), so next week we can sleep in because he is in a higher class that starts at 10.00. That is a relief until son #2 starts his lessons in September at 8.30... then we spent all our Saturday morning in the pool...
Afterwards we drove to Katwijk in Holland to visit friends that celebrated their little girls First birthday, then we had something for lunch with other friends and their two girls and then we all went to the next birthday of a big boy that turned three. He celebrated his birthday on teh beach, so that was great fun for all the kids and their parents.
We cut the birthday festivities short since son #3 is teething and he was enoyable, do I need to say more?
