Our nephew turned 1 last week and we went to his birthday party. My SIL had this wonderful cupcakes made. They are in teh colors and theme of Jan´s birth announcement. Really pretty.

Cupcake pincushion

Isn´t this pincushion just gorgeous? I saw it on etsy by madeinlowell. I think it is just the cutest and would make a lovely and handy jewel when you are crafting.

Son #2 = 4!

This is us, 4 years ago. Wow, I can´t believe they grow up so fast. There he was happy with his pacifier, now he is sitting in the couch with his new NDS, playing mario or something.
And this is son #2 yesterday, we asked to celebrate his birthday on friday since that is a relaxed day. He also wanted cupcakes for the class, so...

And as I am typing this I am waiting for the oven, where there are more cupcakes... For his party later this morning. Happy Birthday from us!

PS I know it says friday in the header, but for us it is already Saturday morning March 27th.

Ready steady Bake!

Yesterday a package (well actually more than one package) was awaiting me.
In the biggest one, was my order of Holiday baking supplies. I will attempt to make the christmas tree in cookies... Will let you know how that worked out, and also some cupcake supplies for the christmas coffee. Will show you teh result.

Cupcakes

Today we had a public holiday, so we spent the time useful, this morning hubbie, my father and the kids stacked all the wood my dad collected in the wood shed for the winter.

I on teh other hand spent my time experimenting with Fimo clay. This is the result: some cakes and pies and a red and white cup of coffee for my coffee swap. I also backed some real cupcakes for a friend we visited this afteroon.

More cupcakes

These are the cupcakes I made for Nic´s school to give to the children that came by bike to school this morning.
I packed them in a little clear plastic bag and school provided some labels to let the children know that they are doing a grat job.
Because they are not allowed candy and chocolate in school, I added just a little bit on teh cupcakes, just plain is not as tasty as a little icing, wouldn´t you agree?

WIP

This week I am crafting on some swap projects and on these little blue flowers. I will make a quilt out of these flowers with white in between them. I think it will give a nice contrast.

Some friendly ladies offered me some small blue fabrics to use in this quilt. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

On the cupcake note, I have made these spiderman inspired cupcakes for Nic. But funny as always, he didn´t eat one of them... I think the colors scared him off :-)

Tomorrow I will make some more for Nic´s school. They want to give a cupcake to every child that comes to school by bike, to stimulate biking to school. Great idea if you live near the school, otherwise,... I wouldn´t think of letting Nic ride his bike to school (at this point in time), there is no special path for bikers and everybody drives like maniacs over here. He also would have to cross a road were you are allowed 70 km/h ...

The swap will consist of something handmade and/or bought and the theme is cupcakes. The cupcake you see is crocheted by myself and I think is quite sweet. This maybe an inspiration.

So, please let me know if you want to join, I will allow one month to make something, I think that will be enough, if not, let me know. At the moment we will have a send date at the end of October. I will let you know when I assign you a swap partner, but it will be no sooner than the end of October.Please provide your name and address and likes/dislikes (e.g. colour) and your blog-addy.

Once I have the swap partners I will give you all the information and the due date. Spread the word around on your own blog, the more swappers the merrier.
