Dag van de wedstrijd

And more snow... It snowed during the night and when we woke up, theer was 40 cm more snow then last night. So it is a bit difficult now as the snow is thick...

Son #3 fell out of the lift and had to be rescued by dad as he tried to walk through the tiefsneeuw, not a good idea if you a just about 1 m in height... We could barely see his helmet.

Cousin # 1 did very well, but for some reason her picture doesnt want to sick here. Cousin #2 also tried for gold...

Son #3 didnt want to race, but he had through from the teacher, so he was just angry when he came down...
At the moment the sun is coming through, so it is a great last day of 2014.

As you can see, the weather improved over the afternoon, and they had 5 minutes of sun :-)

Let it snow

Today is again a fun filled day. It is still snowing but that as hard as it did yesterday. It is also less cold today, so hopefully it will be better for skiing today.

I guess the boys are glad I took the Balaclavas with me this year as they all use them.

And it is niece #2 first day with ski poles. She has been looking out for this day.

All the kids are in their classes and son #1 is skiing with his dad.

Second day of skiing

This morning looked promising. The sun was peeking out and everybody hoped for nice weather.

Everyboday happy although it was really cold: -18°C, so the little ones werent going up the mountain as they tought it was too cold.

But here on the slope near the village they can go back to the hotel to warm up, so they will try again tomorrow.

But while I am writing this, it started snowming again, so I guess the kids will be glad to back at the chalet later this afternoon.

Skiing in the snow

Day 1: the kids are all set for a day skiing. It was snowing and it started snowing more heavily.

As you can see, the snow picked up, so I guess skiing will be a real sport today.

Even the small ones had a great time.

Ski holiday

After spending a full day in the car, we arrived in Augsburg, where we had a great dinner. After a good night sleep and a big German breakfast, we left for Austria.

We have never been so early in Konigsleiten, so we had time to take care of lessons for the kids, do some grocery shopping, etc.

And as you can see, there is snow in Austria.

And the kids took the opertunity to throw some snowballs and do some sleighing until they were almost frozen solid and it turned dark.

Going to the vet

Bobbie had her first vet appointment. She needed some inoculations and pills against wurms, etc. So now she is on couch feeling very drousy I guess...

Homemade christmas present

Son #2 had to make a homemade present for a classmate. So after much thinking, we decided to make a tic tac toe.

This is the result. I think it worked out very well.

Bobbie seems to settle in very well. As she was quite small when she came to live with us, she still suckled, and she keeps doing it, with all of us, when I guess she needs to feel safe. Strange kitty. She is however a lot of fun.

Christmas tree

Yesterday we went to the market in Antwerp and we bought some sea snails (karakollen), so while the were cooking, we set up the christmas tree.

My dad made a small table for under the tree, as we had to cut the lower branches to avoid the Bobby (yes, she has a name) will jump in the tree.

When the tree was decorated, DH and son #2 set up their Marklin train underneath the tree. Good idea...

until Bobby found out...

So know there is only lego under the tree and the Marklin is back safe in the box after having been derailed by Bobby, the catzilla.
