Easter Monday

Today we had a nice quite breakfast with Easter ´sandwiches´. The kids thought it was a strange idea that the Bakker forgot the egg in the middle...
Son #2 made some Easter cakes yesterday so they were served today after breakfast. As you can see, the Easter egg cakes were very funny, but also the chick wraps worked great. I bougth them at AH, the first in Belgium, located in Brasschaat, where I come from originally.

This afternoon we spent a relaxed afternoon at a friend´s place who also made cupcakes, so it was a great lazy Monday.

New addition to the family

Today we made a quick visit to my cousin to welcome the newest addition to our family. My cousing gave birth to a beautiful boy. He is doing great but the pediatrician though he was a bit yellow and my cousin wants to take him home, so she agreed to put him under the light for a couple of hours so they can go home tomorrow.
I think the sunglasses are great. Who came up with the idea?

Saw these and just love them. What a great party gifts. They can be found on Cap creations, inclusding a tutorial. Must make these for a birthday from the boys.

We are having a very nice spring. At the moment they expect 26°C, which is an absolute high, last year we didn´t even have these temperatures in summer. So the kids are playing outside a lot. Maybe we will have BBQ tomorrow.

Crafting

Not much to blog about. I am frantically cross stitching on my Mario scene, especially since the the three boys want one, so I have to make two other scenes as well. Will make a picture to show my progress.
But I like the picture of the stormtrooper knitting. How ingenious.

Too Gorgeous to eat

I like the idea of using an old squeeze bottle (e.g. from ketchup) to put pancake batter in the pan, so you can dose it or better, you can draw with it. The pancakes below are, believe it or not, made by drawing with the batter. No, They are not mine, I saw the pic on the net and my boys just love pancakes, but I don´t think they would pancakes like that, they would be too girlie... But I am a girl, and I like them.

I want this...

Isn´t this is something you would want in your house?
I would, I think it must be neat to get downstairs so quickly and it is cool, isn´t it? And it even looks great in brass. But since we don´t live in a house that make a fireman´s pole possible, I will stay one of those items that are on my ´I want list´.

But then I saw this picture at daddytypes.

OK, this is awesome and my boys would love this. I would love this. I can´t believe that there are craftsmen outthere that come up with ideas like that. Wow. Great stairs.
But helas, again, we have a normal staircase and no room for a spiral one. Where is my list?

OK, I like to craft, but is this Thinking outside the Box? Would I drive this car? YES, I just love it, is is a statement, this is such a cool car, I thought flames were cool, but this is much cooler.
And how about these, I think they are gorgeous, such nice crochet hooks, they look to good to use.

And this chair is just amazing, I would love to have such a chair to sit next to the fire place and craft... I now we are all waiting for summer and sunshine and BBQ, etc.. But winter has its charm as well, as you can bundle up on such a chair with a quilt and just craft with a nice hot chocolate milk and some sweet treats...
One day... I will make such a chair!

Sunny Sunday

Our au-pair wanted to see the flower fields in Holland, so today we made a trip to Lisse to see some of the fields. It turned out that most of the tulip fields moved up North and are now near the Harlemmermeer and that around Lisse their are Hyacints. Offcourse we found some tulip fields but not as there used to be.

I also saw this flower field inspired quilt made by Tiny Koppens. And you can recognize the fields so good in this quilt. One day I will make...

But I am off now since Grey´s Anatomy starts and it will be my first televsion session of the week. DH is not yeat home from work and the kids are already in bed, so it is ME time.

Relaxed weekend

Saturday was the first real sunny saturday, temperatures were above 20 degrees Celius so we went to the beach with the kids. They loved it. This is a pic when we just arrived because soon, they were all soaking wet...
The weather was so good that grandpa took son#2 for a ride in the Vett, and as you can see, safety first, son #2 has a helmet with goggles.

Today when we drove back home we decided to make a detour and stop at a local ice cream place where they make fresh icecream and creme fresh frome their own cows. So you can visit the cows after you have your ice cream or wafel with wiped cream... yummie!

I told DH that we should take a vacation on the farm as the kids love the cows.

A weekend well spent, not much time for crafting, have been busy drawing a new cross stitch pattern together with son #1 and 2.
